Hydrated and desicated rotifers will be sent to the International Space Station (ISS). They will stay in the ESA KUBIK incubator. The scientists will study how the space environment is affecting gene expression of the bdelloid rotifers exposed to microgravity and cosmic radiation. They will also study how space flight affects the genomic architecture.
The data will contribute to a better knowledge of their biological response to an extreme environment and future space flights to the moon or to Mars.
